Shipping & Delivery
Delivered inside Kenya
Domestic orders are delivered across Kenya in 1 to 3 days by vendor delivery or courier, or collected from a stated pickup point. Road runs leave on a fixed weekly schedule and orders placed after the cut-off (14:00 the day before a run) roll to the next run. Delivery is calculated at checkout.
Export sea and air freight
Export consignments move by sea (reefer or LCL) or by air for perishable and urgent lots. Under CIF the seller arranges and pays the main freight and marine insurance to the named discharge port; under FOB the buyer arranges them. See the Trade Terms page.
Indicative sea transit from Mombasa, for planning only:
| Market | Discharge port | Indicative sea transit |
|---|---|---|
| UAE | Jebel Ali | 9 to 11 days |
| China | Shanghai | 21 to 23 days |
| Europe | Rotterdam | 25 to 27 days |
| America | Los Angeles | 30 to 32 days |
These transit times are indicative, not a guaranteed delivery date, and are not a term of the contract. Sailing schedules, port congestion and customs at destination can change them. Air transit is typically 1 to 3 days door-to-airport depending on the lane and is quoted per consignment.
At the discharge port
Once the consignment arrives, the buyer (or the buyer's clearing agent) is responsible for customs clearance, duty, import VAT, port and terminal charges, any destination inspection, and onward transport. Inspection at arrival by the destination plant-health or food authority is the point at which quality and phytosanitary claims are normally assessed; see the Returns, Refunds & Claims page for the deadline.
Where consignments leave Kenya
Kenyan consignments leave through the published exit and border points for the destination (sea through Mombasa, air through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and the mapped land borders for regional destinations). The live list is read from the Kenyan export reference; where it is not available it is confirmed against the consignment.
The Kenyan export documents that must accompany a consignment, and the authority that issues each, are listed on the Export Compliance Statement. The checklist is read live from the same reference the lots use.
