Cookie Policy
This page lists every cookie The-Hub sets: what each one does, how long it lasts, and whether it is strictly necessary. It is written to match the consent banner the site shows on your first visit, and the banner is written to match this page — neither adds a cookie the other does not name.
The only category: strictly necessary
The site sets no optional cookies, so it has one category and no consent to collect. Every cookie below is strictly necessary: the shop cannot take an order, keep a basket or hold a sign-in without it. Under the ePrivacy rules these do not require prior consent, which is why nothing is blocked while you decide and why “Accept all” and “Reject non-essential” both leave you with the same cookies running.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
thehub_dest | Remembers the destination market you are shopping in (Kenya, UAE, China, US, EU) so prices, delivery wording and paperwork stay consistent between pages. Set only when you choose a market from the destination switch. | 90 days | Strictly necessary — first party |
wp_woocommerce_session_… | Keeps your cart, session and checkout working while you are not signed in. | Session, retained up to 48 hours | Strictly necessary — first party, HttpOnly |
woocommerce_items_in_cart, woocommerce_cart_hash | A flag and a hash so the site knows your basket changed. | Session | Strictly necessary — first party |
wordpress_…, wp-settings-… | Sign-in and administrative sessions for a signed-in account. | Session to 1 year | Strictly necessary — first party, set only when you are signed in |
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks that your browser will accept a cookie at all, before the shop relies on one. | Session | Strictly necessary — first party |
What the site does not set
The theme and bridge ship no third-party analytics, advertising or social-tracking cookies, and load no external fonts, so opening the site does not send your data to an ad network. There are no cookies to accept or reject beyond the necessary ones above. If a third-party analytics or marketing cookie is added later, it will appear as its own category in the consent banner — and stay off — before it is used, and this page will be updated with it.
Your choice, and how to change it
The first time you visit, the site shows a banner that states the cookies above and lets you record a choice. That choice is stored in your browser (in localStorage, not in a cookie) and is remembered, so you are not asked again on every page. You can change or withdraw it at any time:
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will break the cart and checkout; blocking the destination cookie will simply return you to the default Kenyan market. Your browser’s help pages explain how to manage cookies for your device.
